Summit County Commissioners to Hold Public Hearing on Lodging Tax and Utility Funding on Tuesday, August 23

At the regular meeting of the Summit Board of County Commissioners on Tuesday, August 23, a hearing will be held on ballot initiatives for a lodging tax and funding for wildfires and 911 dispatch.

Both ballot measures will be included in the upcoming November 8 general election. According to Press releasevoter approval is sought for a levy in the unincorporated area of ​​Summit County and also an extension of a levy that provides funding for 911 dispatch and wildfire protection.

The tax would put 2% on the rental fee, price or other consideration paid or charged for the rental, sale or furnishing of a room or dwelling for a short period of time, defined as a period less than 30 days, according to the press release.
